Important Points of Interest:
- Cold Lunch only...Our last week of school students can bring in money to buy dessert and snack type items that the cafeteria will be selling but they will need to bring in a cold lunch. Students must have the money on them for the snack items. All lunch balances will be due and accounts will be closed for the summer. In the past, the items for sale have been things like brownies, cookies, fruit, etc (pretty much anything leftover from the school year). Usually, things cost somewhere between $0.50 and $1.00.
- We will chat with Mr. and Mrs. Trampe, as well as Mrs. McAlister to learn about ways they help our community. I have also been in contact with one of our Resource Officers (Wendy) that patrols our Zion campus. I am hopeful that she will be able to come in and talk with us about some of the things she does to help serve our community.
- The wheels projects can still be brought in! We will be sending them home on Tuesday, May 21st.
- I will be sending home student portfolios, memory books, poetry binders, and writing journals on Wednesday, May 22! I love looking through their portfolios and writing journals!!! I hope you love them too. I can't believe how much they have grown!!!
- Closing chapel for Kindergarten will take place on Thursday, May 23rd at 2:00 and this will be the last day of class for Kindergarteners. This is a special time for parents to come celebrate their child and close out Kindergarten.Kindergarten does not have school on Friday, May 24th (which is the closing chapel day for 1st-8th).
- Copy and paste this YouTube video to guide you through downloading videos from SeeSaw so you can save the precious memory videos your child has made throughout the year. https://youtu.be/L36nGM-1JUc
- I've also included a link from SeeSaw if you would rather read the directions for downloading student work from SeeSaw https://help.seesaw.me/hc/en-us/articles/208754866?mc_cid=68aeec2313&mc_eid=6e25e8e497
- As you make plans for the summer take a look at the Public Library's summer reading program. Your child has learned so much this school year but the "summer slide" is greatest for Kindergarteners going to First and First graders moving on to second grade. Continue to read, write, and practice math skills over the summer. On rainy days or days that are too hot to go outside, offer STEAM projects like giving them the recycling basket and a goal (such as making something that can fly, float, or that is 12 inches by 6 inches). Honestly, if you give any of them markers, tape, glue sticks, and paper they would work for hours. :) They are so creative! We could stock a library with all of the books that the students have written throughout the school year. I love their creative passion for learning! If you ever need any ideas over the summer you can text me or send me an email. You have amazing and creative kids! I've never heard them say they were bored or lack ideas. I'd love to see the awesome things they write or make over the summer so please send me pictures!! I will miss them more than you know. <3
