Kindergarten is ready to GO! We have talked a lot about our theme verse this school year which is, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." Today in your child’s backpack is his/her Friday Folder which contains important papers, notes, and forms (some of which need to be returned). Make sure you look at all of the papers and return anything that needs to be returned. In this folder, you will receive notes, forms, and anything that we may have worked on throughout the week.

  • In the front pocket, you will find a Church and Sunday School attendance sheet. Please fill this out weekly so I can keep an accurate record for your child's report card.
  • On the inside, "Return to School" pocket you will find a "Comment Sheet". I will try to write comments or little notes every week or two just to share information and keep communication open. Even though it was a short week, I did get a chance to make some comments. Feel free to share anything with me, but don’t feel like you have to. Please leave the “Comment Sheet” in the folder. You will also find a chapel offering envelope. This can be returned to school every Monday. We are on a rotating chapel schedule and I will keep it in the offering basket until it is our turn. Our chapel offerings will support Angie as she GOES into the world. Please see the card with information on what Angie is doing in the "Keep at Home" side of the Friday folder.
  • Scholastic book order forms are coming home. All ordering and payments are done by you at home using our class code, which is written on the order form. A link can be found on the right side of our class blog. You will probably have to use a computer to view this side of the blog; I don't think it is viewable in the mobile phone mode. I will submit the orders at the end of every month. Please let me know if you have ordered books as a surprise and I will put them in the office for you to pick up, otherwise I will send them home in your child's backpack when the order arrives.
  • On the back of the Friday folder, you will find a list of our memory verses for the first quarter. We will learn songs to help us hide these verses in our hearts. <3
  •  Note from the Cafeteria for students who buy their lunch:  Students in PS – 5 have to take a milk unless we have a note from a PARENT that says they can have juice or water.  They don’t have to have an allergy to milk, we just need a note from a parent saying that they may receive juice or a water bottle.  We need new notes each year. You can send me an email and I will print it off and give it to them, or you can hand write a note and I will pass it along. So far I have one from Avery. I apologize if I missed one, there has been a lot communicated verbally and through email and I am almost positive that I have missed one.
  • Mark your calendars! Kindergarten Play Ground Night! Tuesday, Aug. 28th from 6-7 come and hang out on the Zion playground! Meet some of your child's friends and make some new friends of your own. We will have popsicles!!
Well, our first few days of Kindergarten are under our belt. We have learned lots of new routines and met lots of new friends. I pray that God would bless our time together and bring us closer to each other and His word.

Looking ahead to next week:
The votes are in and we need to make a hospital!  If you remember back to Open House I asked everyone to vote for our play space set up. Well, Emily J. joined our classroom on Thursday and she was the tiebreaker! If there is anything that you would like to donate to our class hospital it would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking forward to another fun-filled week in Kindergarten Room 125. Remember to follow us on Twitter (@ZLSroom125) and Instagram (zlsroom125) to see all the pictures.

Here are some snapshots from the week:
