There is one week left in the first quarter! I can't believe how quickly time has passed. This is a sweet spot in the year where the new rush of school has finally settled down, everyone has found a groove, and we have not yet hit the busy rush of the Christmas season. I am looking forward to Trunk-or-Treat, our Pumpkin Patch field trip, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and the Harvest Party!
Important Points of Interest:
- Parent-Teacher Conference time slots become active on October 8th. Log on to Sycamore to sign up for your spot. Conferences will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18th.
- Trunk-or-Treat is just around the corner on Friday, Oct. 12th! TheAnnual Trunk-or-Treat festivities will take place in the main school parking lot from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Food Trucks, a Fire Truck, Trunk Decorating, Trunk-or-Treating and much more. The Early Childhood Harvest Party will take place in the Early Childhood wing and the Commons from 5:00-6:30 p.m. If you are attending but not planning on bringing your car you may bring candy donations to the school office. (We will have our class Harvest Party on Oct. 26th. Trunk-or-Treat is a Harvest Party where we share in fellowship with the whole school). You may attend both the annual main school parking lot event and come down to participate in the Early Childhood events or you might choose to just come to the Early Childhood events. Please let me know if you have any questions. I know this can be confusing if this is your first time.
- I sent home information about a Parent-Child Activity that will be due by the end of the month. Please create an "All About Me" poster on the white cardstock I included with the information slip. I will display these next month in our hallway.
- October 17th is our field trip to Eagle Fork Pumpkin Patch. Please check out the list I have below and let me know if I need to make any changes. I wasn't sure exactly how many children each vehicle could hold and I have some parents carpooling because there is limited parking. It is approx. a 22-mile drive.

- Calling Drew’s Avengers! On Wednesday, October 24 we will be having a special offering. In honor of Drew Albritton's 9th birthday, we will be collecting superhero items that will be delivered to Friends of Kids with Cancer. Drew was a preschooler here at Zion who bravely fought cancer and now is with the biggest superhero of all, Jesus! Please bring your superhero items to chapel on Wednesday, October 24. Action figures, costumes, toys, movies, backpacks, Lego sets, video games, shirts, or any items with a superhero theme are all welcome.
- Friday is Trunk-or-Treat and the end of the first quarter.
