I am looking forward to Trunk-or-Treat, our Pumpkin Patch field trip, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and the Harvest Party!
Important Points of Interest:
  • Parent-Teacher Conference time slots are active on Sycamore. Log on to Sycamore to sign up for your spot. Conferences will only be held on Oct. 18th. 
  • Reminder to return the book report forms that came home a few weeks ago. There is a section for book reports on the report cards. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  • Zion PTL is selling TJ's Pizza again to raise money for the school.  Students came home with order forms on October 9th.
    Key Information and Dates:
    Kickoff:  Tuesday, October 9th
    Turn-In:  Tuesday, October 23rd
    Payment in full is due at turn-in.
    Make all checks payable to "Zion Lutheran School PTL"
    Pick-up:  Tuesday, November 13th 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the school commons.

  • Trunk-or-Treat is this Friday! TheAnnual Trunk-or-Treat festivities will take place in the main school parking lot from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Food Trucks, a Fire Truck, Trunk Decorating, Trunk-or-Treating and much more. The Early Childhood Harvest Party will take place in the Early Childhood wing and the Commons from 5:00-6:30 p.m.   If you are attending but not planning on bringing your car you may bring candy donations to the school office. You may attend both the annual main school parking lot event and come down to participate in the Early Childhood events or you might choose to just come to the Early Childhood events. Please let me know if you have any questions. I know this can be confusing if this is your first time.
  • "All About Me" posters are due by the end of the month. I will display these in our hallway next month as we begin to focus on blessings and thankfulness. 
  • October 17th is our field trip to Eagle Fork Pumpkin Patch.  It is approx. a 22-mile drive.

  • Red Ribbon week will be held on October 22-26thThis is the week that people and communities unite and take a visible stand against substance abuse.  Show your personal commitment to a drug-free and healthy lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon and these fun dress days. 
*Regular dress code applies to all dress days except for the special day’s theme.
Monday: Elect to be healthy- wear red, white, and blue t-shirt, with school dress bottoms
Tuesday: Sports Day- wear favorite sports team shirt
Wednesday: Superhero Day- wear a superhero shirt and regular dress bottoms.
On Wednesday, October 24th we will be having a special offering collection of superhero items to honor Drew Albrittons' 9th birthday. Drew was a preschooler here at Zion who bravely fought cancer and now is with the biggest superhero of all, Jesus!  
Please bring your superhero items to chapel on Wednesday, October 24th. Action figures, costumes, toys, movies, backpacks, Lego sets, video games, shirts etc. will be given to Friends of Kids with Cancer as an offering.
Thursday: Crazy hair day
Friday: Spirit Day: Jeans and school spirit shirt

Looking ahead to next week:
  • Field Trip is on Wednesday morning. Please be sure your child's name is on their booster seat and remember to send it with your child to school on Wednesday. We will be back by lunch.
  • Parent-Teacher conferences will be held all day on Thursday. 
  • No school on Friday! Friday is Fall break. Enjoy a special day off with your family.
