It was great to talk to everyone who came to Parent-Teacher Conferences! Your children brighten my days and I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to help them grow. We have a GREAT class and I look forward to coming to work every day to spend time with them. We have another fun week full of Red Ribbon Week festivities, a visit from the Firefighters on Thursday, and our Harvest Party on Friday afternoon!
Important Points of Interest:
  • The TJ's Pizza order forms are due on Tuesday, October 23rd
    Payment in full is due at turn-in.
    Make all checks payable to "Zion Lutheran School PTL"
    Pick-up:  Tuesday, November 13th 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the school commons.
    Thanks for all of your support for our fantastic School!
  • "All About Me" posters are due by the end of the month. I will display these in our hallway next month as we begin to focus on blessings and thankfulness. 
  • Red Ribbon week will be held on October 22-26thThis is a special week to focus on healthy lifestyle choices. We celebrate with special dress days and a door decorating contest
*Regular dress code applies to all dress days except for the special day’s theme.
    Monday: Elect to be healthy- wear a red, white, and blue t-shirt, with school dress bottoms
    Tuesday: Sports Day- wear favorite sports team shirt
    Wednesday: Superhero Day- wear a superhero shirt and regular dress bottoms.
    On Wednesday, October 24th we will be having a special offering collection of superhero items to honor Drew Albrittons' 9th birthday. Drew was a preschooler here at Zion who bravely fought cancer and now is with the biggest superhero of all, Jesus! Please bring your superhero items to chapel on Wednesday, October 24th. Action figures, costumes, toys, movies, backpacks, Lego sets, video games, shirts etc. will be given to Friends of Kids with Cancer as an offering.
    Thursday: Crazy hair day
    Friday: Spirit Day: Jeans and school spirit shirt
    • The Fire Department will visit Kindergarten on Thursday morning and we will learn about fire safety.
    • The Harvest Party will be Friday afternoon. Mrs. Braswell will be heading up the festivities and I know it will be a FABULOUS time! We are planning to start around 1:00 to avoid rushing to get packed up at the end of the day. 

    Looking ahead:
    • Oct. 31st is a half day. Dismissal is at 12:00 for all students and teachers will attend a school safety training session.
    • Kindergarten classes will sing at the 5:00 Church service on Saturday, November 3rd.
    • MUFFINS FOR MOMS will be on Wednesday, Nov. 7th.
