A BIG thank you to our room mom, Mrs. Braswell, and all the other parents who helped out during our Harvest party! October has been such a long month! It seems like it has been October forever!
We finally move on to November this week. November typically goes by quickly, so check the calendar on the right side margin of the blog to make sure you have all the important dates marked down.
We finally move on to November this week. November typically goes by quickly, so check the calendar on the right side margin of the blog to make sure you have all the important dates marked down.
Important Points of Interest:
- I am working on setting up some service projects during the month of November. Check the blog and your email for information about a possible field trip to Breeze Park. We are focusing on being thankful for family, friends, and our neighbors. Serving others is part of showing God's love and how thankful we are to have the opportunity to love each other. Be on the lookout for more information coming soon.
- Zion raised over 292 superhero items during our special chapel offering last Wednesday. The items were collected in memory of our student, Drew Albritton. The items were given to Friends of Kids with Cancer. Thank you for sharing the love of Jesus with others.
- "All About Me" posters are due. I will display these in our hallway during November as we begin to focus on blessings and thankfulness.
- 2nd Quarter book report forms are coming home. They are due at the end of the quarter (December). Feel free to turn them in any time during this quarter. This class loves to share favorite books, so I have started a Favorite Books wall to hang pictures of students with their favorite books.
- Watch for reading books to come home on Wednesdays. You should have gotten your first book this past Wednesday. Mrs. Runge will replace last weeks book for a new book I have selected. Please let me know if you have any questions.
- Oct. 31st is a half day. Dismissal is at 12:00 for all students and teachers will attend a school safety training session.
Looking ahead:
- Don't forget we sing at the 5:00 church service on Saturday, November 3. The children will sing in the balcony. Mrs. Runge will meet you by the stairs to help guide you to the right spot. We will meet in the music room on the top floor 10 min before the service starts. The children will sing at the beginning of the service and they will come down for the Children's Message. After the Children's Message, the children will return to parents.
- MUFFINS FOR MOMS will be on Wednesday, Nov. 7th.
- The Thanksgiving Food drive is scheduled for Wednesday, November 14. Each class is asked to donate a specific food item in order to provide complete meal boxes for the families at the Seminary. Kindergarten is asked to donate canned fruit and canned veggies. You may bring these in at any time and I will store them until chapel.
- Nov. 6th is a No School day due to the election. This is a change in the school schedule and is due to the high number of voter turn out expected on campus that day. Please let me know if you have any questions.
