Called to care is our theme verse this year and this week we have talked a lot about how we care for each other and the things God has given us. Mrs. Kimber Graham is our second-grade teacher who was recently diagnosed with cancer. I wear a bracelet every day to help show my love and support. It also helps remind me to pray for her several times throughout the day. If you would like to purchase a bracelet for your child, or maybe even your whole family, you can send your money to school in an envelope. Please write your child's name on the envelope and send it to school in their red folder. I will turn in all orders next Thursday. The money raised will go to her family to help offset some of her medical expenses. The bracelets are $5 each. They have large and small bracelets, so please indicate on the envelope what sizes you would like. Thank you for continuing to pray for Kimber and her family. God is good!
Things coming home in the Red Folder today:
- I am sending home a Kindergarten evaluation form that I use. I wanted you to be aware of all the things that will be on the report card this year and our goals each quarter.
- In the front pocket, you will find a Church and Sunday School attendance sheet. Please fill this out weekly so I can keep an accurate record for your child's report card.
- You will also find a chapel offering envelope. This can be returned to school every Monday. We are on a rotating chapel schedule and I will keep it in the offering basket until we go.
- On the back of the Red Folder, you will find a list of our memory verses for the first quarter. We will practice our first memory verse next week and our goal is to post it to our Seesaw accounts. You should have gotten an email with directions about how to join.
- I am also sending home information about a charity golf tournament for Mr. and Mrs. Graham.
- Zion Golf Tournament is this Saturday
- I will be absent on Wednesday, August 21st because I will be moving my daughter to college. Mrs. Runge will be my substitute.
- We will have our first fire drill on Thursday, August 22nd. I know this can make the children a little anxious, so I just wanted to give you a heads up so you can talk about it at home.
- Mark your calendars for Kindergarten Playground Night! Tuesday, Aug. 27th from 6-7 come and hang out on the Zion playground! Meet some of your child's friends and make some new friends of your own. We will have popsicles!!
I am looking forward to another fun-filled week in Kindergarten Room 125. Remember to follow us on Instagram (zlsroom125) to see pictures.
