- A small camping day reminder to hang on the fridge. Students may bring a sleeping bag for rest time and it is a dress down day (they may wear whatever they would like for camping day). Camping day is a fun way to explore our senses. We will have different themed centers and we will partner up with Mrs. Ernstmeyer's 5th-grade class in the afternoon. Our 1/2 day friends are invited to stay all day if they would like. Camping day will be Thursday, August 29th.
- Scholastic order flyers are coming home today. If you visit our class blog on a computer you can find a direct link to our Scholastic class homepage to place your orders. All money transactions are handled online through Scholastic. I place the orders at the end of every month and our class will earn points to use for classroom items with each order. I will send home the books, once they arrive, in your child's backpack unless you tell me otherwise. If the books you order are for a birthday or Christmas gift just let me know and I will put them in the school office for you to pick up without your child knowing.
Points of Interest:
- Check-in with your child about their earbuds. A few of them had a hard time because they wouldn't stay in their ears. Headphones might be a better option for them if they are having trouble. I helped them this week but this will move to an independent center from here on out. It might be tricky to hold the earbuds in their ears and follow along in a book and operate the iPad.
- Cold lunchroom!! Our new lunch table is under a vent. There are a few spots that are colder than others, so your child might like to bring a light jacket to school to wear during lunch.
- Mark your calendars for Kindergarten Playground Night! Tuesday, Aug. 27th from 6-7 come and hang out on the Zion playground! Meet some of your child's friends and make some new friends of your own.
- Earthquake Drill is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 27th at 9:30
- Camping Day will take place on Thursday, Aug. 29th
- No school on Friday, Aug. 30th and Monday, September 2nd.
- Our library opens the week of Sept. 3rd
- Tornado Drill is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 4th
- Bobcat Shuffle is on Saturday, September 7th
