I'm sending home a hard copy of the special dress days going on next week to celebrate Red Ribbon Week! As a mom, I always felt like it was nice to hang things like this up at home where my children could see it to help them remember, plan, and have some ownership/understanding of the plan for the week. It also provides a natural use of literacy skills with the bonus of excitement!
Dress Days for Red Ribbon Week (10/21/19-10/25/19)

On Tuesday, October 22 we will be having a special offering.  In honor of Drew Albrittons’ 10th birthday, we will be collecting superhero items that will be delivered to the superheroes at Friends of Kids with Cancer and they will distribute them to children and their siblings through the pediatric cancer treatment centers in St. Louis at Mercy Kids, St. Louis Children’s, and Cardinal Glennon hospitals. Drew’s family hopes to donate 1,000 superhero items, in honor of his 10th birthday, to kids battling cancer.
Drew is Reese Albritton's brother and he was a preschooler here at Zion who bravely fought cancer and now is with the biggest superhero of all, Jesus!  The Albrittons thank you for your support in avenging pediatric cancer in honor of Drew.
Please bring your superhero items to chapel on Tuesday, October 22.  Action figures, costumes, toys, movies, backpacks, Lego sets, video games, shirts, or any items with a superhero theme are all welcome. You can bring your special offering anytime before Wednesday, October 23. The children can store them in their cubby with their gym shoes until our special chapel service.

Sign-ups open today (10/18/19) on Sycamore! Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held after school on Oct. 30 and the morning of Oct. 31.

Spread the word... Open House will now be held in the fall! Zion Lutheran School will host our Open House on November 10th from 3-5 p.m. This is a time for families to check out all of the great things Zion has to offer and to take a peek at future grade levels. Open House is designed to help families with decisions about enrollment for the upcoming school year. This is earlier than in the past. Zion usually hosts Open House in January; however, our spots have been filling up earlier, so our administration has decided to move Open House to the fall. Enrollment opens January 26th for the 2020-2021 school year!
