Next week is probably one of the busiest times of the school year! It's so strange how we can be so busy when the meaning of Advent is waiting! While we wait; we prepare! I pray this Advent season has given everyone time to sit, listen, and reflect on Jesus and the amazing gift given to all of us. When you walk into a Kindergarten classroom (honestly, any classroom) the last week of school in December you can tell the children are getting impatient and ready to explode from all the "waiting"! I love their excitement! We will have quiet reflection and lesson time to focus on waiting for Jesus...but I will also help funnel their excitement into recording a Christmas video, making all sorts of things, conducting experiments, and rehearsing for our Christmas program. I will be finishing up 2nd quarter assessments and reports. Be sure to update your Church and Sunday School attendance record and I will slide our 3rd quarter memory verse sheets into the red folders by Friday. When we return from break, I will send home the 3rd quarter High-Frequency word baggies to any student who still hasn't received them yet.
The Kindergarten classes and the 8th-graders will perform our annual Christmas Service at 8:20 Friday, December 20th. Please join us in the sanctuary! The program will last about an hour.
Our class Christmas party will start at 10:45 Friday morning and our day will end with dismissal at 12:00 (half-day). Please let me know if you have any questions.
Santa's STEAM Workshop is ready! Thank you so much to everyone who donated items! If you come across any great items in your recycling bin over the weekend feel free to bring it in throughout the week! All half-day students are invited to stay all day next week!
Zion's Early Childhood Service Project Invitation
Zion Lutheran School and Church have partnered with Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Louis to assist with an after-school program. Each Tuesday, Zion members provide after-school care activities, dinner, and share Bible stories with 25 to 35 school-aged children. They are in need of school boxes for the second semester. Each early childhood class has been assigned a specific item in the hopes of putting together complete boxes for each child. Items can be brought to school Wednesday, 12/4- Thursday, 12/19.
Our class has been asked to donate mechanical pencils
Thank you for considering this special gift.
