We had a great week learning about Noah, the flood, and rainbows. We made our first class book (a book of rhymes). We learned about Piet Mondrian and used his ideas to create our own artwork. We started Fun Friday with centers and finished the afternoon by doing a STEAM activity.
Important Points of Interest:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1GO8GMcujoTlVn0ljAXUQ9-sRPy5F71_ZReHpow9wf30/edit?usp=sharing- Memory will be said on Friday and will be recorded by the children using Seesaw. I will try to review and approve them during rest time. I will put a sticker by the verse after they have said it. I am not a hard grader on memory. Since they are still only in Kindergarten, I am really only looking for the words and the book of the Bible. Mixing up the numbers is totally understandable. My half day students will probably not get a sticker (just because I don't have time to get to it before you leave... I am so sorry) but if I run across a problem with their memory when I review it I will let you know.
- Just a reminder that students eat a snack every day, and they need a snack from home unless I have mentioned a special snack that we will all share (like on camping day). I have a few packages of goldfish that have been donated in case someone forgets, but I am quickly running out of my stock supply. :)
- Today I sent home an idea sheet on 25 ways to use magnetic letters. I thought this might be helpful if you were looking for some ideas of things to do at home to help your child learn to read and write.
- No School on Monday!
- We have our rescheduled Kindergarten Playground Night on Tuesday, Sept. 4th from 6-7:00 p.m.
- Camping Day will be on Friday, September 7th. Students may wear regular clothes and they may bring hats if they would like. It is a dress down day. Students can bring sleeping bags to "camp" in our room at rest time. If they do not have sleeping bags they can bring their nap bags back. Don't feel like you need to go out and buy one.
- If you would like to help donate items needed for next week please click on the link below. We will be learning about senses all week and we need a few things to pull it all together. A BIG thank you to Mrs. Trampe who has already donated the food items needed for our camping day trail mix.
