Opposite day was a great way to end the week! We played some games, sang some songs, and went through an opposite obstacle course on our soccer field. We also got to work with our 4th-grade friends again which was a special treat. We read some student poems in a book called, The Best Part of Me and then took pictures of our favorite parts to create a wall art display. We hope you get a chance to check it out!
Important Points of Interest:
- Everyone is adjusting to Kindergarten well! It is a good time to start trying to say goodbye at the classroom door. Try to let the students walk into the room by themselves. This will help them gain confidence and self-esteem. It is ok if you need/want to come in and say a quick goodbye or say something to me, but other than that they should be coming over to the token table to start their day by themselves. I know it's hard but this helps them know YOU have confidence they can do it, and this is so very important! <3
- Reminder to return library books. We will go to the library on Friday, September 21st.
- Don't forget to return permission slips to Eagle Fork Pumpkin Farm. Our class will be going on October 17th.
- Zion Parents: Tuesday, September 25th (6pm - 8:30pm) join us for Parent Technology Night in the church basement. Tina Meier, Founder and Executive Director of the Megan Meier Foundation, shares her daughter’s story and shows first-hand the devastating effects of bullying, cyberbullying and suicide. This is a school-wide event. Please feel free to come even though your child is only in kindergarten. The information is good to tuck away for the future.
- Dad's Day is Friday, September 21st and starts at 12:45. Dads can meet us in the gym where we will start by singing a few of our favorite class songs. From there we will break up into 2 groups (one will head to my classroom and the other will play some games in the gym). A personal invitation came home in Friday Folders with the agenda. Please let me know if you have any questions. *It is a dress down day again because students and dads can dress alike! :) So uniform dress is not required on Dad's Day Friday!
