Important Points of Interest:
Time to celebrate National Lutheran Schools Week!!!!!! Kicks off this Saturday!
On Thursday I am sending home a special note in the red folders with important information about our celebration.
- We will celebrate the 100th day of school in our classroom on Wednesday, Jan. 30th. Please send in a baggie (big or small) of 100 items for your child to display in the hallway. This will help students visualize of how different 100 can look depending on size and shape.
- Special Dress Days for NLSW (1/28/19-2/1/19):
Tuesday: Holiday Day-Dress as your favorite holiday...no matter what time of year it is!
Wednesday: PJ Day-Wear pajamas/sweats
Thursday: Circle of Life Day-You can be as old (or as young) as you want to be today. Baby? Grandparent? Be any age you want.
Friday: Class Choice Day- Our class voted to dress in athletic wear. Students can dress like they would be going to gym/workout or in their favorite sports gear.
Looking ahead:
- Valentine's Day is just around the corner! I will send home a class list on Thursday in case your child wants to address their valentines to their classmates. If however, you or your child just wants to put their name on all their cards (so their classmates will know who gave them which valentine) that is completely fine as well. Please collect 1 milk jug for your child's valentine box. I will ask you to send one in the week of Valentine's Day. We will hang these from their cubbies and deliver Valentines during rest time. Half day students are invited to stay all day to share in our afternoon party.
Snapshots from the week: We used our life fetus models to help visualize how small we all once were, and regardless of our size God knew us and called us by name.
We started working on learning number words ...
Using a number line is a great way for children to make sense of number oder and gain a better understanding of what is actually happening when they are adding and subtracting.
