Important Points of Interest:
  • We will not have school on Friday, April 19th (Good Friday)- Monday, April 22nd to celebrate Easter.
  • We will be learning about Earth Day when we get back from Easter break, and we will be making Junk Journals by using the front and back of old boxes (cereal boxes, kleenex boxes, mac-n- cheese boxes, etc.). Please have your child bring in an empty box of some sort on Tuesday. I have also been collecting some from my house in case anyone forgets.
  • Field trip on Wednesday, April 24th- wear red zion shirt and bring a peanut free lunch. Don't forget your booster seats! :) We will leave at 9:00 and should arrive back at 2:00. Drivers: Mrs. Braswell, Mrs. Stockstill, Mrs. Trampe, Mrs. Bromberg, Mrs. McBroom, and Mrs. Frahlmann.
  • Mom's day is planned for Friday, May 10th at 1:00 and both classes will meet our Mom's in the gym. Look for a special invitation coming home in red folders on Thursday.

Looking ahead:
  • *Kindergarten sings on Sunday, May 5th at the 10:30 service.
*Our last field trip is to the Magic House on Friday, May 17th.
*Closing chapel (takes the place of a kindergarten graduation) will be at 2:00 on Thursday, May 23rd.
Kindergarten does not have school on Friday, May 24th (which is the closing chapel day for 1st-8th).
Please let me know if you have any questions. I know this is the first time through all of this "stuff" for most of you, so please don't hesitate if you aren't sure about something.
Snapshots from last week: Students learned about coding by using Lego Duplo blocks...

We used resurrection eggs to help us learn more about the events of Holy Week...

We had many special Chapel services to help us understand what happened at the tomb...

Today was AWESOME...
My mother-in-law found a Robin egg on the sidewalk and I brought it in to show the class. We talked about how awesome God and His creation is by looking at the shape of the egg. We talked about the shape of an arch and how strong it was. We did a little experiment by seeing how strong the eggs could be by standing on them! It was so much fun!
